Spottiswoode rail tracks. The train yard which was actually the cargo site and the maintenance part of the Tanjong Pagar railway station which was located at the back of the Spottiswoode Park Residential. Now, everything is gone and there is only a big green field left. There has been a locomotive turntable which was installed in 1932.
At the front side of this place (the right side of the photo which is not visible here), there was also a Hindu temple which is gone already too. I took this shot from a Spottiswoode Park HDB flat in January 2011. Singapore’s Tanjong Pagar railway operations ceased from 1st of July 2011. All the railway tracks you can see here have been removed.
Sad to see the closure of this age old Malayan Railway Station
