Aromalab is an app that uses essential oils to assist people overcome their physical & mental problems.

This app analyses a user’s problems and suggests aromatherapy as a solution, while also outlining the benefits of the suggested therapy and how it should be applied. Both a website and a mobile app are available for the Aromalab service.

Defining the Brand Identity

To define the brand voice, I have considered things such as a strong visual palette and a typeface that would be able to easily communicate with the brand’s target audience. To empathise with users, the chosen colours for the identity are cool dark colours on slightly warm background colours, so it could give the concept of diversity and contrast (problems and solutions) to the users.

The typography, design style, shapes, and images used in the design process are curved, rounded, and with fewer sharp edges to reinforce comfort and to have a better impact on users’ emotions. Below you can see my identity design process for this project.

User Experience Design

Based on the research conducted for this project, I created user personas to understand the users’ needs, motivations, and challenges better. User personas were engaged in developing user stories, which helped to generate the user flow.

Wireframing has been done in two stages as low and high-fidelity to prepare prototypes for web and mobile users. Usability and user testing also have been carried out to finalise the product and get to the go-live stage.
